Dearness Allowance from May to July 2017 for Bank Employees to reduce by 1%

Dearness Allowance to Bank Employees – DA payable to employees for the Quarter May to July 17 shall be is set reduce by 1%. i.e. a decrease of 13 slabs from the current level

Dearness Allowance for Bank Employees is calculated on the basis of All India Consumer Price Index.
DA for Bank Employees is set to reduce by around 1% for the months from May to July 2017. Dearness Allowance for Bank Employees is calculated on the basis of All India Consumer Price Index (base 1960=100) with linking factor to CPI (base 2001=100).
On the basis of CPI data announced by the Govt for the month of Jan’17 to Mar’17, as tabled below, there is an decrease of 13 DA Slabs payable for the period of May’17 to Jul’17.

For the Quarter Jan – Mar 2017 as above = 6261.91
For the Last Quarter (Jul – Sep 2016) = 6353.20
In terms of clause 7 of the 10th Bipartite Settlement dated 25.05.2015 and clause 3 of the Joint Note dated 25.05.2015, the rate of Dearness Allowance payable to workmen and officer employees for the quarter May to July 2017 shall be 45.60% of ‘Pay’ against 46.90% of ‘Pay’ applicable for the previous quarter.
