- Tiruchi airport has been ranked 5th among non-metro airports in the country.
- It is conducted by Airport Authority of India in the southern region by an agency selected by them.
- 1. Raipur 2. Udaipr 3.Amirstar 4. Dehradn 5. Tiruchi
- Lat year it was 6th position, except Chennai,Bengaluru,Kochi and Hyderabad, the other airports in the southern region were non-metro airports.

CHINA CLOSING NATHU LA PASS
- Face off between india and chinese troops along the India-china border, the kailash mansarovar yatra through the Nathu La pass in sikkim has been cancelled.
NATHU LA PASS
- Nathu-Listening ears, La-Pass in a mountain pass in the himalayas. It connects the indian gate of sikkim with China's tibet autonomos region.
- On indian side the pass is 54 east of gangtok, only citizen of india can visit the pass and then after obtaining a permit in gangtok.
- Nathu La is one of the three open trading border posts between china and india. The others are Shipkila in Himachal pradesh and Lipulekh at the trisection point of Uttarkhand - India,Nepal and China.
- Nathu-La is sealed by india after the 1962 sino-india war and reopened in 2006 for trade.
- Pilgrims travelling throgh the Lipuekh pass in uttarkhand will continue.
- Through the Nathu La it leads to manasarovar shortens the entire distance, The Lipulekh route involves a treacheous trek about 200km. while the Nathu La rote for treking only 35km.
FUNDS FOR GST
- Once the GST implemented will subsume almost all the cesses levied at the moment including Swachh bharat and Krishi kalyan.
- Edu cess on imported goods and the cess on crude oil will remain under GST.
- Government need extra revenue to compensate the states and so the GST council decided to impose additiona cess for 5 years on certain goods over and above the highest tax bracket of 28%.
- These goods on which cess will be levied icude tobacco products,coal,moto vehicles, which include all types of cars, personal aircraft and yachts.

TRAI PITCHES FOR LOWER GST
- TRAI has pitched for a reduction in the GST rate for telecom services to 5% from 18% decided by the GST council. And recommended a cut in levies such as license fee and spectrm usage charges.
- TRAI may consider actively taking up with Ministry of Finance the issue of reduction in GST rate from 18-5% . By declaring the telecom sector as core infrastructure industry and economy enables in India.
INFRASTRCTURE OTPUT GROWS 3.6%
- Infrastructure for the month may grows to 3.6% and in apri 2.8%
- There are eight core industries namely - coal,crude oil, natural gas, refinery, fertilisers, steel, cement and electricity
- In this ony 5 sector shows growth and the coal, fertilisers and steel witnessed no improvement.
